Become a member of the Genocide Prevention Council

The Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation invites governments, organizations, foundations, and individuals to sponsor the attendance of two policymakers from a developing nation at one of our genocide-prevention seminars and our yearly alumni network meeting.

As a member of the Genocide Prevention Council, you provide vital support to genocide prevention around the world, as developing countries are typically the ones that are most at risk. Your generous contribution allows developing country policymakers to attend a Raphael Lemkin Seminar on Genocide Prevention, not only reinforcing their professional commitment but giving them the knowledge and tools they need to prevent genocide, and connecting them to a worldwide network of like-minded policymakers.

Membership in the Genocide Prevention Council currently requires a $7,900 commitment (per policymaker) for the seminar and a $3,200 commitment (per policymaker) for the alumni meeting. We invite GPC members to select a developing country to support from the list below (based on the UN Human Development Index):

Sierra Leone, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, Mozambique, Niger, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Ethiopia, Mali, Guinea, Cote d'Ivoire, Rwanda, Eritrea, Zambia, Malawi, Benin, Gambia, Togo, Timor-Leste, Angola, Uganda, Lesotho, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Djibouti, Cameroon, Papua New Guinea, Haiti, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nepal, Kenya, Madagascar, Ghana, Swaziland, Mauritania.
