AIPR Celebrates Recovery of Missing Grandson Number 114

Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 6, 2014 – Estela de Carlotto, founder of Argentinian human rights group [Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo](http://www.abuelas.org.ar/english/history.htm), announced yesterday that she has recovered her grandson after more than three decades of tireless searching. Ms. Carlotto has spoken at an AIPR alumni meeting, local genocide prevention seminars and at the launching the Latin American Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention. She is a tireless fighter for the truth about the identity of hundreds of newborns stolen and illegally adopted during the civil-military dictatorship in Argentina from 1976-83. Carlotto’s grandson is the 114th to be found by Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo. "The recovery of the identity of grandson number 114 marks a very important day for Argentina,” said AIPR’s Director of Latin American Programs Eugenia Carbone. “AIPR shares this moment of deep joy and expresses its profound respect for Carlotto’s and the Grandmothers’ work in search of memory, truth, and justice," she added. La Sra. de Carlotto ha participado de reuniones con participantes de los Seminarios del AIPR, de Seminarios de Prevención y en el lanzamiento de la Red Latinoamericana para la Prevención del Genocidio y Atrocidades Masivas. Estela es una incansable luchadora por la verdad sobre la identidad de cientos de niños apropiados durante la dictadura cívico-militar que asoló a la República Argentina durante los años 1976-1983. "La recuperación de la identidad de Guido Montoya Carlotto, marca un día muy importante para la Argentina", dijo la Directora de Programas para América Latina del AIPR, Eugenia Carbone. "El AIPR comparte este momento de enorme alegría y expresa su profundo respeto por el compromiso de Estela de Carlotto y de todas las Abuelas en la constante búsqueda de Memoria, Verdad y Justicia," agregó.
