On June 28, 2022, the Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities (AIPG) signed a cooperation agreement with the Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki State University of Małopolska in Oświęcim. The University is named after the Polish World War II resistance fighter who voluntarily went to Auschwitz to organize an underground and send the first messages to the Allies about the true nature of Nazi Germany's largest concentration and extermination camp. Dr. Sonia Grychtoł, Rector of the Małopolska State University, and Małgorzata Waligóra, Director of AIPG's Polish Affairs, jointly signed the document. This agreement represents a unique opportunity for students of the Małopolska State University to get involved in AIPG's work through a professional internship and to acquire appropriate knowledge, skills, and social competencies for working in the field of atrocity prevention and in the operation of an international nonprofit organization. The signing of this agreement aims to promote joint educational initiatives, research, and training programs to facilitate knowledge sharing that will expose English Philology students at the University to a professional environment in the field of atrocity prevention.
El 28 de junio de 2022, el Instituto Auschwitz para la Prevención del Genocidio y Atrocidades Masivas (AIPG) firmó un acuerdo de cooperación con la Universidad Estatal de Małopolska del Capitán de Caballería Witold Pilecki en Oświęcim. La Universidad lleva el nombre del combatiente de la resistencia polaca durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial quien voluntariamente fue a Auschwitz para organizar una operación clandestina y enviar los primeros mensajes a los aliados sobre el mayor campo de concentración y exterminio de la Alemania nazi.
La Dra. Sonia Grychtoł, rectora de la Universidad Estatal de Małopolska, y Małgorzata Waligóra, directora de asuntos polacos de AIPG, firmaron conjuntamente el documento.
Este acuerdo representa una oportunidad única para que los estudiantes de la Universidad Estatal de Małopolska se involucren en el trabajo de la AIPG a través de prácticas profesionales para adquirir los conocimientos, las habilidades y las competencias sociales adecuadas para trabajar en el campo de la prevención de atrocidades y en el funcionamiento de una organización internacional sin fines de lucro.
La firma de este acuerdo tiene como objetivo promover iniciativas educativas conjuntas e investigaciones, así como programas de formación para facilitar el intercambio de conocimientos que expondrán a los estudiantes de Filología Inglesa de la Universidad a un entorno profesional en el campo de la prevención de atrocidades.
