Dr. Gabriela Ghindea joined the Auschwitz Institute in January 2019. She earned one B.A. in History and another in Political Science from Babeș-Bolyai University, in Cluj-Napoca, an M.A. in European Studies from the Rheinisch Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, and a Ph.D. in International Relations from Babeș-Bolyai University, with focus on the Cold War and the German Ostpolitik. Interested in memory cultures and civic education, Dr. Ghindea conducted research and pedagogical projects in Romania, Austria, and Germany. In parallel with her academic research, she worked for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) from 2009–2015 and as a referent and project manager within the Teaching Liaison Department of the Goethe-Institut from 2015–2019, further developing her expertise in the fields of historical-political education and educational marketing during this period. Currently based in Bucharest, Dr. Ghindea coordinates all aspects of AIPG’s Mediterranean Basin Programs, including developing and expanding relationships with State and civil society actors at the regional and national levels, developing and guiding programs through the conceptual, partner identification, implementation, and evaluation phases, teaching in AIPG programs, in addition to regularly liaising with the Auschwitz Institute's offices around the world. Dr. Ghindea is also the Program Director of AIPG’s Global Raphael Lemkin Seminar for Genocide Prevention.
La Dra. Gabriela Ghindea se unió al Instituto Auschwitz en enero de 2019. Obtuvo sus títulos en Historia y Ciencias Políticas por la Universidad Babeș-Bolyai, en Cluj-Napoca. Recibió su maestría en Estudios Europeos del Rheinisch Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen y su Ph.D. en Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Babeș-Bolyai, con énfasis en la Guerra Fría y la Ostpolitik Alemana. Interesada en las culturas de la memoria y la educación cívica, realizó investigaciones y proyectos pedagógicos en Rumania, Austria y Alemania. Paralelamente a su investigación académica, trabajó para el Servicio Alemán de Intercambio Académico – DAAD (2009 – 2015) y para el Goethe-Institute (2015 – 2019), como referente y como gerente de proyectos dentro del Departamento de Enlace Docente. Durante estos años, ella desarrolló su experiencia en los campos de la educación histórico-política y el marketing educativo. Con sede en Bucarest, la Dra. Ghindea coordina todos los aspectos de los Programas de la Cuenca del Mediterráneo de AIPG, incluyendo el desarrollo y la expansión de las relaciones con los actores estatales y de la sociedad civil a nivel regional y nacional, desarrollando y viendo los programas a través de las fases conceptual, de identificación de socios, de implementación y evaluación, enseñando en programas de AIPG, además de mantener un enlace regular con las oficinas globales de la organización.
