Martin Sklar

Martin Sklar is a corporate lawyer practicing in Manhattan for over 35 years. Since 1993, he has been a partner at Kleinberg Kaplan, a leading law firm in the area of private investment funds. His practice areas include: investment management, mergers and acquisitions, securities law compliance and shareholder activism. He has considerable experience in cross-border transactions and has lectured, written, and commented in the press on securities law matters. Mr. Sklar is a Long Islander by birth and a long-time Westchester County resident where he and his wife have raised two boys. He holds a degree in history from Princeton University and a law degree from New York University. He is the President of the Princeton Alumni Association of Westchester and has also been active in UJA-Federation governmental relations committees and the New York City Bar Investment Funds Committee, as well as serving as a FINRA arbitrator. While not having been personally affected by tragedy, Mr. Sklar, like most people, has always been deeply disturbed by mass atrocities. He looks forward to a world where they will no longer be ignored or tolerated and he believes strongly in the prevention model and mission of the Auschwitz Institute.
